Coquitlam is an attractive urban community in Metro Vancouver and is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in BC. With a population of approximately 140,000, Coquitlam is the sixth largest municipality in Metro Vancouver. It has beautiful parks, interesting festivals, shopping centres and nature. Coquitlam is one of the “Tri-Cities”, along with the neighbouring suburbs of Port Coquitlam and Port Moody.

The median age of Coquitlam's population was 41.1 years, slightly younger than the British Columbia median of 43.0 years. About 44% of Coquitlam residents were foreign-born, the median income in 2015 for all families was $65,020.

Ethnicity (Year of 2021): European 42%, East Asian 31%, Middle Eastern 8%, Southeast Asian 5%, South Asian 5%, Latin American 3%, others 6%.
